At FISH Analytics, we believe good data practice starts with respecting the people behind the data.

We take privacy, confidentiality, ethics and data security seriously. Whether we are working with survey responses, organisational data or information relating to students and young people, we aim to collect and use only what is reasonably necessary and to handle information with care.

We encourage the use of anonymous, de-identified or aggregated data wherever practical, particularly where individual identification is not necessary for the work.

When working with schools and other organisations, we work with our clients to understand their privacy, data security and child safety requirements. We take particular care with sensitive information and information relating to children and young people.

We also consider privacy and confidentiality when using technology, cloud-based systems and artificial intelligence tools, and maintain appropriate human oversight of our statistical work.
