    • You need statistical expertise. Our Principal Consultant Statistician (PCS) brings over 15 years of industry experience, more than 10 years of tertiary training in mathematics and statistics, and 20 years volunteering in Catholic Mission.

    • You want to understand where AI can help. AI is becoming an increasingly important part of how information is collected, analysed and used.   • Think of analytical work like building a house.

    A house brings together many specialists: architects, builders, electricians, plumbers and others. Each has expertise in their own field. A building inspector, however, understands the standards that apply across the project and can independently assess whether the work has been done properly. When engaged early, they can also help identify issues before they become costly problems and provide advice about how to proceed.

    Analytical work is similar.

    Data analysis can be undertaken by professionals in IT, business, finance, education, health and many other fields. These professionals bring valuable subject-matter expertise and often strong analytical skills.

    A statistician is the specialist who understands the mathematical and statistical principles that underpin sound analysis.

    We understand how to design appropriate methods, assess the quality of data, account for uncertainty and bias, interpret results, and distinguish meaningful findings from patterns that may simply be due to chance.

    Just as a building inspector does not need to be the person who built every part of a house, a statistician does not replace your IT, finance, business, education or health professionals. We provide the independent statistical expertise that helps bring the pieces together.

    There are relatively few practicing statisticians in Australia according to the last ABS Census, and we estimate that only a handful work specifically within Catholic Mission. FISH Analytics was founded by the Principal Consultant Statistician (PCS) to make high-quality statistical consulting more accessible and affordable to communities aligned with Catholic Mission; from parishes and schools to charities, health services and not-for-profits. Remembering that Catholic Mission is for all of humanity, not just for those with Catholic identity.
